On 12 April, Manuel de Oliveira Violas founded Solverde - Sociedade de Investimentos Turísticos da Costa Verde S.A, leading a group of investors from the region of Espinho.
Dedicated to the tourist industry, Solverde was created in order to combine leisure, entertainment, culture, investment and employment.
It obtained the gambling concession in Espinho and started to operate in 1974.
Inauguration of the current building of the Casino Espinho. At the time of inauguration, it was considered the largest in the country and possibly in Europe in floor area.

Inauguration of Hotel Solverde SPA & Wellness Center, located in Granja beach, considered to be a "five-star” haven due to its excellent infrastructures, beachfront and quality of services provided.
Upon the death of its founder, Manuel de Oliveira Violas, the management of the group passed to his son Manuel Violas.

Casino Espinho underwent a profound renovation with the goal, which was achieved, to become the largest and most prestigious show room of Porto and the entire North of the country.
